Models and tracer methods for groundwater resource management

The calibration of groundwater flow models is notoriously non-unique. Inverse stochastic modelling presents a way to characterize the set of feasible solutions, which then can be analyzed for its statistics. The sequential stochastic self-calibration method available in the group has not yet been applied in the field. It will be applied in two field cases where also environmental tracer data and geophysical data are available as conditioning information. Alternatively a purely Bayesian Monte Carlo approach will be tried out for comparison.
